On July 8th, Virtusan co-hosted a special evening in Zurich—Longevity Decoded: Healthier Living for a Longer Life—featuring Dr. David Sinclair, one of the world’s most influential figures in the science of aging.

A Professor of Genetics at Harvard Medical School, Dr. Sinclair is known globally for his pioneering work on the biology of aging and how it can be slowed or even reversed. He’s also a bestselling author of Lifespan: Why We Age—and Why We Don’t Have To, and co-director of the Paul F. Glenn Center for Biology of Aging Research. His research has shaped the future of how we think about longevity—and it forms part of the scientific foundation behind Virtusan.

Together with our community, we explored what it means to live not just longer—but better.

Setting the stage

The evening opened with remarks from Marc Walder, CEO of Ringier, and Dr. Li Wu, founder and chairwoman of Virtusan. Both emphasized the importance of collaboration, prevention, and innovation in reshaping how we approach aging in the 21st century.

Dr. Wu introduced Dr. Sinclair by highlighting his role in shaping Virtusan’s scientific foundation—and their personal friendship, rooted in a shared commitment to advancing healthspan.

What if aging is curable?

Dr. Sinclair’s keynote addressed one of the biggest shifts in longevity thinking:

“What if aging is a disease—and that disease is curable?”

Backed by decades of research in epigenetics, cell reprogramming, and metabolic health, he shared a hopeful, data-backed view of human aging as a process we can increasingly understand—and influence.

Dr. Sinclair presented real-life examples of biological age reversal in mice using cellular reprogramming techniques, which effectively restored youthful function in aged tissues. He also highlighted a study of identical twins showing that only 20% of aging is dictated by genetics, while the other 80% is shaped by lifestyle.

This shift in understanding—from fate to influence—underscores Virtusan’s belief in everyday action as a path to long-term vitality.

Fireside insights: from data to daily practice

Following the keynote, Dr. Sinclair joined Dr. Li Wu, Virtusan CEO Chris Monkman, and moderator Sylwina Spiess for a fireside conversation. The panel discussed:

  • Why prevention and measurement are the future of healthcare

  • How data-driven protocols can improve everything from sleep to stress

  • The connection between biological age and long-term wellbeing

  • The importance of designing tools that are both scientifically rigorous and accessible

The first longevity ring: Virtusan Ring 360

During the discussion, we revealed the Virtusan Ring 360—a next-generation wearable designed to help people track and improve their biological age.

Built with medical-grade sensors, the Virtusan Ring 360 tracks:

  • Heart rate and HRV (Heart rate variability)

  • Sleep stages (REM, deep, light)

  • Stress levels

  • Blood pressure and and ECG

  • Movement, activity, and calories

Data syncs seamlessly with the Virtusan App to deliver personalized, science-backed recommendations and protocols that evolve with your body.
